National Prayer Vigil for Life Important Information

**REMINDER: Opening Mass begins at 6:30 p.m.**

National Vigil for Life

Sunday Obligation- Opening Mass on Sunday
Attendance at the 6:30 p.m. opening Mass fulfills the Sunday Obligation.

  • Clergy and Seminarian Participation
    Bishops and priests are invited to concelebrate the Opening and Closing Masses. Deacons are invited to vest and participate. All are asked to bring their own albs and stoles.

    Seminarians are invited to participate in the processional only, and remain in place during the recessional.

  • Seminarian Participation – Holy Hours
    Seminarians are encouraged to lead an hour of the Holy Hours of Life, held in the Crypt Church from midnight to 6 a.m. The holy hours are coordinated by Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. For more information, please contact the coordinator, Sean Foggo, at stfoggo@email.msmary.edu or 301-447-5761.

    Catholic University's Pryzbla Center, 6:00 AM-8:30 PM: Food court open for purchase

  • January 24
    Basilica Cafeteria, Lower Level
    12:00 -6:00 AM: Free coffee (West hall)
    6:30-10:00 AM: Free doughnuts and coffee
    6:30-9:00 AM: Hot breakfast, available for purchase
    Catholic University's Pryzbla Center
    7:00 AM, Convenience Store, lower level,  bagels, juice, etc.
    7:30 AM, Food court open for purchase

  • Overnight Housing for Pilgrims        
    Catholic University’s Dufour Center is already fully booked the night of Jan. 23.  Contact the Archdiocese of Washington at 301-853-4555 or the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia at respectlife@arlingtondiocese.org or 703-841-3817 for possible housing leads.
     
  • Transportation and Parking
    Parking will be extremely limited at the Basilica.  Pilgrims are encouraged to use the Red Line Metro system.  The Brookland/CUA metro stop is conveniently located at the Catholic University of America campus, adjacent to the Basilica.
